Intracorporal Smart Pill for continuous pH-measurement in stomach |
Custom Design |
If you need something new—we can help you. There is one example of our custom designs ... Smart Pills The diagnostic of reflux diseases requires continuous 24-hour monitoring of pH value in the stomach of the patient. Available methods use a catheter inserted through the nose and require procedures causing a significant discomfort for a patient. An alternative method is based on a simple swallowing pH-sensor that was developed by NeuroConnex in collaboration with our customers. The Smart Pill incorporates a temperature and potentiometric pH sensor as well as 433MHz RF transmitter and a power source. After activation the Smart Pill sends the measured values to the external hand-held device. Recorded data may be then transmitted to standard PC and analyzed by a physician. First animal trials show an effectiveness and safety of such diagnostic devices. |
